News in English, yay!

It’s been nearly a month we’re back in Switzerland, so we thought would be time to give some news to our dear friends around the world.

After spending the 2 first weeks in the French part, spending great time with our families and catching up with a few friends, we’ve moved last week to Winterthur (close to Zürich). Ben has started intensive German classes – every morning from 9am to 1:30pm. He has already improved and is doing great with learning lots of vocabulary, speaking, etc. We’ve moved in the flat of an amazing couple, Matthias and Andrea, who we’ve know for many years and who are close friends. It’s a huge blessing!

I (Chantal) have been looking for a job for these 2 months here and have quickly realized that it’s not gonna be easy to find something for such a short period of time (the process to get and leave a job in Switzerland is way more complicated than Australia).

But I’ve once again been able to experience God’s amazing faithfulness and favor. Tuesday I sent my application for a job as a salesperson, received a phone call the same night and Wednesday I had an interview. It’s a job for 3 months (till end of June) 20 minutes from where we live, casual 40 to 90%, in a building/garden supply store. I’m going to work in the garden department: water the plants, fill the shelfs and get my hands dirty, ha!

God is so good, I’m super excited for this job! Now I’m just waiting for the contract and I’m gonna start to work the week of the 2nd of April.

We’re very grateful for a smooth transition, thank you for your prayers! We miss Australia a lot though, it feels very weird not to be part anymore of what’s happening at Hillsong, for example when seeing pictures of Colour. Always gotta remind ourselves that now matter where we are, we’re still part of the same family and serve the same King! And I have the privilege to go to Colour London end of April. Can’t wait!!

As far as our involvement in church, we’ve been to ICF-Lausanne (the church we come from) during the past weeks. This weekend they perform a musical called « Chez Job », which relates a modern story of Job and talks about how to deal with suffering. They’ve already done it in Geneva last week and it was a huge success! We’re very excited to see it and help to make it happen this weekend in Lausanne.

After that we’ll stay in Winterthur for the weekends and therefore serve at ICF-Winterthur (together with some great Hillsong College alumni). It’s also amazing to be close to Zürich -where ICF church has started 15 years ago- in order to « bathe » in our church’s vision, get inspired with what’s happening there, get to know people, etc. And I’m quite sure the reason we’re here is bigger than what we think.. What’s for sure is that we’re going to make the most out of it and let God surprise us!

Hey we love you and miss you lots and lots!! How was/is Colour ?? What has God done in your life? Let us know what’s happening in your world, would love to hear from you!

Be blessed! xoxo

Chantal & Ben
